Travel to Mallorca with Sarah Malcolm
The Ultimate European Wellness Escape
Yoga instructor, podcast host and our good friend Sarah Malcolm came to us at the end of summer wanting to escape for a few days of sea, sun and some serious relaxation … plus a spot to practice her yoga flow! We matched her to the perfect hotel in Mallorca, Ca N’ai, the rest is history. Read on to hear all about her epic escape and get in touch to start planning your dream trip!
Exploring new places, like so many of us, has been one of my most missed things over the last 18 months. And in a time where we’ve spent so much of our lives in our homes, and even the thought of travel has been far too stressful, the idea swimming in the sea became something of my dreams. But as the end of the Summer neared, I knew that my body and mind needed a big reset before heading into a change of seasons and change of pace, so I reached out to the lovely guys at nemo for some help.
On a rainy afternoon in London, I spoke to Tom at nemo and said, “please take me somewhere we I can immerse myself in nature and swim in the sea” and wow did his recommendations not disappoint. If you haven’t come across the wonderful expertise of nemo before, you can think of them as your personal travel guru, someone you can talk to about your passions and interests -who’ll then take this on board and find unique places to stay and experiences just for you. They are there every step of the way to find you idyllic spots to stay as well as expert travel advice and reassurance. And through the current UK traffic light system for travel, they were so helpful with letting us know exactly what we needed for travelling- it felt wonderful to know that you weren’t plunged into the unknown alone. All of their trips are also designed with sustainable practices, authentic experiences and local empowerment in mind; so wherever you go, you’ll feel fully immersed in the true culture of your chosen destination.
So I can’t thank nemo enough for helping us with this truly memorable trip. Now on to the places we got to visit (and a lot were highly recommended by nemo on their handy travel app).
Being immersed in the sea our first 3 days/nights were spent on the South of the island in Porto Cristo, which was a great location for us to then explore the beautiful coast and coves. SO many opportunities to get straight in the sea and a highlight for me was an early morning stroll and swim in Cala Figuera before having a morning coffee watching the boats come and go. Porto Cristo itself was nice enough to explore and we had a lovely meal at Quince, which we found on the nemo app.
BEACHES ON THE SOUTH:
📍Es Trenc beach
📍Calo Del Moro
📍Cala Llombards
📍Cala Santanyi
📍Cala Figuera
📍Cala Esmerelda
We then drove up to the northern peninsula of the island and wow did the landscape feel different! We left Porto Cristo early and headed for breakfast and coffee at Cappuccino in Port De Pollenca. The morning mist was quite breath-taking.
BEACHES ON THE NORTH:
📍 Platja D’Albercutx
📍Platja De Formentor
📍Cala Murta
We then drove on for the next 3 nights in the most beautiful @hotelfincacanai which was snuggled in the hills of Soller and found for us by nemo. They have a lot of stunning places to stay in this area on Mallorca but this one looked rather magical and perfect for somewhere peaceful to land and lots of space for me to practice yoga as we had our own private garden. The hotel was situated in between port de Soller and Soller and you could either walk to them or hop on the old fashioned tram for a 2 minute ride (which was a joy). The views from our hotel were absolutely magical and we would wake up each morning to breakfast with a view of soller hidden beneath the clouds. It was absolutely breathtaking!
SPOTS ON THE NORTH WEST:
📍 Ca N’ai Finca
📍 Soller
📍 Port de Soller
📍 Deia
📍 Cala Tuent
📍 Patiki beach for lunch in Port De Soller
📍 Neni for sunset cocktails/dinner in Port De Soller
📍 C’as Patro March for morning coffee before the crowds or lunch
📍 Sa Forada for lunch
What an absolutely beautiful island and still SO many other places I want to explore. We didn’t even touch on Palma, which nemo also have heaps of hidden gems in, so I’ll definitely be back. And again, a big thank you to nemo for helping us plan this amazing exploration. Do check them out if you want somewhere really bespoke and tailored to your every desires.
