Well, boutique Santorini stay Vòra Villas obliges with three cliff-clinging cave-style villas overlooking Skaros Rock and the dazzlingly blue caldera. K Studio architects have used greatest-hits Cycladic and Scandinavian aesthetics: white lime-washed walls, pared-back palettes, sculptural furnishings. Beyond good looks, the hotel’s on-the-edge spa tubs will make you feel like you’re flying, the on-speed-dial chef will transport you with fresh island produce and the concierge will call in a private yacht for you to daytrip on.

Villa Alpha

This 87sq m villa is a duplex that sleeps up to three people. There’s a balcony on the upper floor and a furnished terrace – with an infinity spa tub that leans out over the caldera – on the lower. Built by K Studio architects, this hideaway has curvaceous cave-like spaces carved into the cliffside with white lime-washed walls, Scandi-style furnishings and charred wood and gunmetal accents. On the upper level, there’s a living space, dining area and fully-equipped kitchen (with a stove, fridge, cook and tableware, Nespresso coffee machine and tea-making kit, and free bottled water); on the lower level there’s a king-size bed dressed in natural linens, a dressing area, geometric black-marble bath tub steps from the bed, and a discrete bathroom space with a walk-in shower and twin limestone sinks. All villas have a Bang & Olufsen sound system, Smart TV, iPod dock, sun parasols, bathrobes and slippers, Olive Era bath products and individually controlled air-conditioning.

Villa Ro

Photogenic and intimate, this 96sq m two-storey villa has a large furnished terrace with a lofty infinity spa tub that appears to float over the caldera; there’s also a balcony on the upper level. The villa has a kitchen too, with a stove, fridge, cook and tableware, Nespresso coffee machine and tea-making kit, and free bottled water – and, on the lower level, the living room faces out to the Aegean. Each villa also has a Bang & Olufsen sound system, Smart TV, iPod dock, sun parasols, bathrobes and slippers, Olive Era bath products and individually controlled air-conditioning. Villa Omikron

A cave-style dwelling carved into a cliff face, with a breathtaking aspect of the caldera and Skaros Rock, this 65sq m villa uses elements of Cycladic and Scandi design (white, lime-washed walls, curvaceous ceilings and alcoves, sculptural furnishings and natural tactile materials) to great effect. Wool and rattan, untreated and charred woods, gunmetal and stoneware evoke the rugged surroundings, and there’s a 35sq m furnished terrace with an infinity spa tub. There’s a living room and dining area, a bedroom with a king-size bed and wardrobe, and a bathroom with a black-marble bath tub, walk-in shower and twin sinks. The villa has a kitchen too, with a stove, fridge, cook and tableware, Nespresso coffee machine and tea-making kit.
