Santorini Heights

Santorini Heights, at the highest point of the namesake Greek honeymoon haven, is formed from four whitewashed suites and a huge helping of (largely human-free) caldera views. The laidback owners like to keep things simple, offering room service rather than a restaurant, organising cooking classes to champion the local produce, and growing organic herbs and vegetables on site for use in everything from the cocktails delivered straight to your terrace to the cakes laid out in the communal kitchen. You’ll need a car to explore the rest of the island, but Pyrgos – and all its excellent tavernas, bars and boutiques – is the next village along.

The hotel is on the highest (hence the name) part of the island, a short drive from the village of Pyrgos.

Herb Suite

Named for its proximity to the hotel’s herb and flower gardens, this 45sq m suite has a private sea-facing balcony and a heated outdoor Jacuzzi. Inside, there’s a king-size bed, an ensuite bathroom with a shower and twin sinks, and a fully equipped kitchen with a wine cooler, as well as living and dining areas and a walk-in wardrobe. It’s as whitewashed as you’d hope it to be, with hand-embroidered traditional curtains. The suite has its own car park space, air-conditioning, a flatscreen TV, natural bath products, Bluetooth speaker, Nespresso coffee machine and free WiFi.

Garden Suite

Adjacent to the hotel’s garden terrace, this 45sq m suite has all the features of a Santorini hideaway (whitewashed walls, sparkling Aegean views, alcoves…). There’s a terrace with a Jacuzzi, kitchen, ensuite bathroom with twin sinks and a walk-in shower, living space and dining area. Other facilities include WiFi, private parking, air-conditioning, flatscreen TV, natural bath products, Bluetooth speaker and Nespresso coffee machine. This 55sq m ground-floor suite has a king-size bed that can be twinned on request. The decor is typically Cycladic, with whitewashed walls, alcoves and neutral colours. The Summit Villa

This 100sq m villa is at the top of the Santorini Heights resort and has a large private terrace with a private, heated plunge pool, an alfresco dining area and sunloungers. Inside, there’s a living room (which can be set up with extra beds for two guests) with an ornamental fireplace and sliding glass doors that lead out onto the terrace. There’s also a kitchen (kitted out with a fridge, freezer, wine cooler, ceramic hot plates, microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine), a dining area and a second bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bedroom with an emperor-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, freestanding bath tub and a dressing room. The villa has free WiFi, a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, satellite smart TV, air-conditioning, bathrobes, beach towels, and private parking.
