NoMad London

For 266 years, Bow Street Magistrates Court heard some of the UK's most notorious cases but now, from its Grade II listed bones, comes a much more inviting visit: NoMad London. It's the group's first foray outside the US and the hotel pays thoughtful tribute to its storied past with suites fashioned from magistrates offices, artworks nodding to the incarcerated and the courtroom itself spruced up for use as an elegant events space. Celebrated design studio Roman and Williams have tempered extroverted elements – the restaurant atrium is a true scene-stealer; the bars are built for buzz – with the feel of a real Covent Garden residence. The verdict, as we're certain a jury of our peers would unanimously conclude, is: a triumph.

Magistrates' Suite

In their spacious 57 square metres, the Magistrates’ suites have separate sitting rooms (some with dining tables) and bedrooms boasting king-size beds, decorative fireplaces, a minibar and tea- and coffee-making facilities. For an additional £50, some suites can fit an additional rollaway bed (for an adult or a child) and cots can be added free of charge in all suites. Some mosaic-tiled bathrooms have standalone clawfoot bath tubs, and all have walk-in showers. Products are Argan by Côté Bastide.

Royal Opera Suite

A sizable 70 square meter suite with, as the name suggests, prime views of the Royal Opera House. There are separate living and entertaining rooms, with decorative fireplaces and a desk/workspace.
