The Exclusive Suite Elegante villas at Monaci delle Terre Nere in Sicily are shining lessons in why being eco-friendly doesn’t have to mean sacrificing on style: wooden-beamed ceilings, four-poster beds and sleek white walls prove the point. This 40-acre farm is surrounded by vineyards and lush green countryside, with the sea shimmering and Mount Etna rumbling in the distance. The rosy 19th-century villa is where you’ll find most of the hotel’s attractions (which include live jazz once a week), but these secluded hilltop suites offer a touch more privacy to proceedings – not to mention uplifting views of the Med from their lofty perch.

Monaci delle Terre Nere sits at the eastern edge of Etna National Park, a 20-minute drive from the Mediterranean coast and a half-hour drive to Taormina. Built among fruit orchards and vineyards, it's remote, but you’re guaranteed a splendid view.

Two Bedrooms Pool Villa

This spacious and private 150sq m suite is 300m from the main building, and has views of the sea and the vineyards. The suite has two bedrooms, one has two bathrooms and the other has one bathroom; two of the bathrooms have a bathtub, and one has a shower. This suite also has two separate living rooms, two sofa beds and three fireplaces. All rooms are TV and phone free, and have a minibar, locally made bath products and free WiFi. Guests on standard rates also get complimentary organic breakfast, packing and unpacking service, ironing for two items per room, one candle-lit massage per room, free minibar and a golf cart.
