Ekies All Senses Resort

Surrounded by sandy beaches and coral waters, the hotel sits on pine forest-backed Vourvourou Bay in Sithonia, Halkidiki (a peninsula on the northern Greek mainland). Sithonia’s main town of Nikiti is 15 minutes by car.

A geometric, avant-garde mural is emblazoned on one of this 20sq m room’s clean white walls. Located on the ground or upper floor, each has either a double or queen-size Coco Mat bed topped with down bedding, and an ensuite bathroom with shower. All rooms have a minibar and free WiFi.

Junior Suite

Flashes of blue and quirky modern murals enliven the white walls of these 32sq m suites on the ground or first floors. Suites above the ground floor have a balcony, and each has a queen-size or king-size Coco-Mat bed, piled with pillows and soft down bedding. The ensuite bathroom has a rainfall shower and the lounge area is contemporary and cool, with designer statement pieces. There’s a minibar, desk and free WiFi. A baby cot can be added on request.

These comfortable 50sq m suites have an open-plan living room and bedroom. Some of these suites are on the ground floor and some are on an upper floor – those set above the ground floor have a balcony. The 70sq m Penthouse Suite has plenty of room to play, a balcony with unobstructed views of the sea and Mount Athos, a private Jacuzzi and an open-air dining area. There’s a light, bright bedroom with a queen-size bed, a separate living room, and an ensuite bathroom has a rainfall shower and large marble bath tub; all suites have a flatscreen TV, CD and DVD player, a Marshall bluetooth speaker, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machine, minibar, air-conditioning, tea-making facilities, ultra-comfy Coco-Mat mattresses and down-filled pillows, Apivita bath products, bathrobes and flip-flops. (There's technically room for two extra guests, but they'll be sleeping on a mattress made up for them on the floor, so this suite's better left to couples.)

Decorated in classic blue and white, this 45sq m suite on the ground floor is close to the beach, restaurant and bar area. If you're traveling with friends or little Smiths, these 75sq m suites have plenty of room for your group, with two bedrooms, a living room with sofa beds and a private garden with a pool. Pine Suite

Inspired by the sweeping forest surrounding the resort, these eco-friendly apartments use natural, raw materials throughout and the exterior has been designed to blend with the environment. Located on the ground or first floor, these colourful 75sq m spaces are best suited for families or groups. Each has a veranda topped with day-beds, two bedrooms, a shared living area with two sofa beds, two bathrooms with a rainfall shower each and a private garden. Herbs Villa

Just steps from the beach and decorated in sultry yet sun-kissed style, this 80sq m villa is spread over two levels. You’ll have your own private garden with herb and vegetable patches and an outdoor meditation room – plus spaces for dining alfresco and relaxing. Within, there’s tiled flooring and stone walls, with modern iron-and-wood furnishings and lighting, and a spiral staircase leading to the top floor. On the lower level there’s a living room, bedroom with a double bed behind glass sliding doors and a bathroom with a rain shower, and on the upper level, there’s a sleeping area with a double bed, lounge and second bathroom with a shower. You’ll have a private entrance and free WiFi, a sound-system, wine bar and minibar. Extra beds and baby cots can be added on request and up to four adults and two children or four children and two adults can sleep here.
