Dar Zemora

This Palmeraie boutique hotel in Marrakech is an expansive domain, with six-metre-high ceilings. The sleeping and lounging zone of Dar Zemora has punched-metal wall sconces, a stone fireplace (lit every evening), jewel-coloured rugs, and French doors leading to the elegant garden.

Dar Zemora is in the Palmeraie, an area of lush palm groves just outside of Marrakech, a 15-minute drive from the Medina.

Mecila Double/Twin Room

The room can be double or twin bedded and has Berber style carved furniture.The large bathroom has a marble tub with shower over and trough style marble wash hand basin and separate WC.

This double room has a balcony overlooking the gardens. Inside it can be either double bedded or a twin with two single beds, fireplace, iPod dock.

This double room has its own balcony. Inside, the room has a queen-size bed, iPod dock and double windows overlooking the gardens. The ensuite bathroom has an oversize marble bath tub and separate shower.

The Perla Suite

The star attraction in this suite is the four-poster, king-size bed; there's also a sitting area with a dining table, a fireplace, a separate dressing room and a spacious private roof terrace. The ensuite bathroom has a double sink, a marble bath tub and a shower.

The Zahara Suite

The elegant Zahara Suite, with walls of chocolate-coloured tadelakt, has a four-poster, king-size bed; a large sitting room with a fireplace; and a separate dressing area. The ensuite bathroom has a spectacular vaulted ceiling above the marble bath tub, double sink and walk-in shower. The two large windows overlook the garden, and the double doors open onto a private terrace. The suite is close to the pool, which is unmanned.

The Pavillion Pool Suite

This private house in the hotel's gardens has two double bedrooms with their own terraces, a large sitting room and a terrace ideal for alfresco dining. The suite's Palm Room has a queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with an enamel bath and walk-in shower. The Tikida Room has a double bed or two twins, and its ensuite bathroom has an enamel bath, walk-in shower and a double sink. There are stunning vaulted ceilings in the Palm Room, Palm bathroom, hallway and Tikida bathroom and a hand-painted ceiling in the sitting and dining room. There are fireplaces in both bedrooms and the sitting room, and air-conditioning and heating throughout. The suite also has its own private heated swimming pool.
