Boutique hotel Convent de la Missió in Palma is a mix of stone walls, clean lines and modern art: the one-time nunnery now has a rooftop terrace and pool and the Michelin-starred Marc Fosh restaurant. What would the sisters think?

Each of these lightly coloured rooms has a unique layout; some have vaulted ceilings, some are split across two levels and many feature floating mesh sculptures by Katrin Kirk. These rooms average 30sq m and have either a king-size or double bed (twins also available on request), and an ensuite bathroom with a bath tub and separate shower. Each room also has a smart TV, WiFi, bathrobes and minibar with free bottled water.

Each of these sprawling 50sq m suites has a bedroom with a king-size bed, a living area decorated with modern art and some have a private terrace with outdoor seating. This elegant 75sq m suite has a king-size bed, a steam room, and a private terrace; there’s also a separate lounge area with cosy white seating, modern art features, and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower, standalone soaking tub, and twin basins. It also has a smart TV, WiFi, bathrobes and free minibar and bottled water, and a daily coffee and tea service. Stays in this suite also include transfer from the airport, priority check-in, a welcome drink on arrival, a daily evening drink at Art Bar, and free reserved parking.
